Junior Olympic Program Rules Update #2
JO Program Update #2 is now posted on the USA Gymnastics web site on the Men’s Program Page. There will be no more rule changes to the JO Program this season which concludes with the 2009 Junior Olympic National Championships.

Age Group Program Questions
Questions pertaining to interpretation or implementation of the Junior Olympic program rules in connection with scoring should be sent directly to the NGJA Regional Technical Director of the applicable region of the coach or judge presenting the question. If the JOTD cannot provide an immediate answer, your question will be forwarded to the NGJA Junior Olympic Vice President.
Questions pertaining to eligibility, qualifying or competition format should be addressed directly to the Men’s Program Director.
New or Unlisted Skills
As per the age group manual, athletes who wish to compete new or unlisted skills must have those skills evaluated prior to competition by the MPC Skills Committee. Those skills (must include a video of the skill) should be sent directly to the Men’s Program Director. Skills not evaluated by the Skills Committee will receive credit as per the age group manual.

I hope your summer has been productive and are excited about the upcoming season.
The TN Judges Association has two major events planned for the end of this year:
The judges’ cup will be a competition with no scores posted and no placement of athletes. Every gymnast will receive a t-shirt and medal plus scorecards from each event with notes from the judge(s). This will be a great tool for improvement for the gymnasts and their coaches. The judges will also speak to each group after their rotation to make general comments. The goal of the event is to get everyone off to a good start in the state. This is especially important since the optional and compulsory rules will be very different this year. We will also offer a brief description to parents of the process through announcements. The event will also allow us to train newer judges (side by side) with our seasoned veterans.

I would like to thank Kit Bunger and Let It Shine for making their gym availabile for the 2007-08 TN State Clinic.
This year we had 104 gymnasts participating at the Clinic. A big thanks to all coaches who made the clinic posibile. Like always your input was greatly apreciated by all gymnasts. As you all know for the past 2 years TAG Gymnastics hosted the
State Championships in Chattanooga together with the
Girls Optional State Championships. This year the girls are changing the
State Meet to a later date, April 4-5-6 2008. This date is to
late for the boys so we will have to return to an in gym format unless someone can find a way to host it at an outside the gym location. This means that the
State Meet is open for
bids. Enyone interested in hosting the
State Meet must submit a bid by

PLEASE CHECK THE REGIONAL QUALIFIERS CAMP

I hope all of you are enjoying your summer training.
I know everyone is looking forward to the upcoming season.
I am working on the upcoming season so I need everyone who is planning to host a team competition to send or call me with your schedule dates. As soon as I compile a schedule I will make it available as an email and posted on the web. If you have pictures with any gymnasts from TN please email them to me and I will put them on the web randomly.
As we talked about it before, this year TN is going to host a Tennessee Regional Qualifiers Camp. The camp will be held at FlipFest camp in Crossville TN on
August
25th and
26th. Dead line for entry is
August 10th. This camp is available only to Regional Qualifiers.
John and John informed me that there would only be room enough for
60 boys. There were 75 Qualifiers at Regionals. So please get your gymnasts sign up as soon as possible. An entry form will be attached to this also. The cost will be
$100.00 and that will cover clinic, room, board and food. If you or your gymnasts would need room and board for Friday evening I need to know as soon as possible to arrange it with John. You will be responsible for your food on that evening. As always look forward to see you all at the Camp in Crossville.
SCHEDULE: Will be posted as soon as available.
All participants will also get to attend the 2007-08 Tennessee State Clinic
Oct. 13-14 at Let It Shine in Franklin, TN for
FREE. The date line for the State Clinic is
Oct. 1st.
